More than the son of Benjie Paras?

Nobody saw Andre Paras as something more than the son of Benjie Paras.

That notion is being challenged now, after he erupted for 7.3 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks in his three games in the D-League.

Even the coaches are hyping up the kid. Read this recent article by Spin.ph to find out what they are saying about him. Link

So, is the guy legit? Or, how high is his potential, right now?

Let us take a quick glance.

Rebounding
Numbers should be enough to say that he can rebound. Can he also be an elite rebounder in the PBA?

With the small sample size that I saw, the guy is more of a brute rebounder. His skills and timing is not yet there. Is that bad then?

No. He can succeed with that style but to be elite, he needs to develop the skills. The good thing is, he is athletic enough to magnify skill level.

Rim Protection
The guy can block shot. The sample size is not enough for me to say that he will be a legit rim protector in the PBA. If he can sustain above 2 blocks per game all throughout his D-League career, that should be enough for me to say that he will be a top 20 shot blocker in the country.

Offense
He doesn't have any good scoring move inside. He will not be quick and fast enough to play in the wings so he better develop that part of his game.

On the other end, he can already shoot three. If you can shoot threes efficiently and you are a big man, you are already a valuable piece on any offense.

IS HE LEGIT?
80% Yes.

HOW HIGH IS HISPOTENTIAL?
So far, he could be an All-Star player.
