Let us assume that the SMB-Kia trade proposal is just part of a bad dream.
In the real world, Ravena blasted the pack in the different athleticism test. He was the top in the agility test with 10.72 seconds. He was also the faster sprinter with 2.78 seconds. Lastly and shockingly, he tops the vertical leap test with 39.5 inches.
So, it seems like I have underestimated the quickness, speed and jumping ability of Ravena.
Should we put him now on equal footing with Christian Stanhardinger?
I think, we should. His stature provide a huge handicap for him in the big league but his speed and leaping ability will be an equalizing fact.
Even with his size disadvantage, his speed should help him keep himself on the face of his defensive assignment. With proper tutelage, he can be a leach-type defensive stalwart. His leaping ability provide the ability to make game-changing stop and shot alteration.
So, with an above-average defensive upside, it is hard now to counter the case of Ravena as the #1 pick of this 2017 draft.
