PBA is only 4 days away if everything goes according to plan. Of course I am leaning more for a new beginning instead of continuing with the current state of the league.
But, if the league will push through, Phoenix, NLEX and Magnolia may consider these targets for their push.
Phoenix - Jericho De Guzman
Phoenix badly needs a bigman. Perkins, Kramer, Wilson, Chua and Eriobu just lacks too much height, size and rim protection for Phoenix to overcome. How about frying Jericho De Guzman from Ginebra?
Don't tell me you forgot about Jericho de Guzman? He is the second tallest player in the league! I know that height is not enough to get stable minutes in the PBA but still, height is might. 10-13 minutes for Jericho to try and stabilize their frontline will be helpful for Fuel Masters.
NLEX - Gabe Norwood
Trust me, coach Yeng Guiao is missing Norwood. Yeng doesn't have any lockdown defender on his team so how about acquiring the best lockdown defender that he ever handled? Rain or Shine will not be looking for a wing or a guard so they will ask for a big and NLEX has Soyud, Gotladera and Miranda. NLEX may need to give up a 1st but the presence of a lockdown defender could be the last piece of the puzzle for this team.
Magnolia - 1st round pick
This franchise had done this before. If they can let go of James Yap, they should be able to let go of Peter June Simon. Yes, I really believe that this is the best season for them to cash-in on the popularity of the Scoring Apostle and try to juice out a 1st.
Even though Simon is hinting retirement after this season, a new team with a chance to show-off one last time could entice him to extend for another two years.
