Officer-in-Charge Commissioner Willie Marcial is hitting all the right buttons early into his tenure. And I think the biggest thing is the return of the physicality in the PBA.
And the fans are reacting well. The fights and tussles in the past few weeks, that involved different teams, have created a positive uproar from the PBA fans.
Even the alumni of the league are throwing positive comments about it. And you can hear the commentators lavishing about it.
Fans are hating so hard on players of the opposing teams that clashed with their favorite players. That alone has pushed the popularity of the league upward.
The Chris Ross-Coach Yeng saga is still a huge debate. The Raymond Almazan and Eric Camson skirmished and trash-talking was on another level.
But, is that really enough to say that the fans are returning and the league will go back into its glory days?
THE ANSWER IS A BIG BIG NO!
Don't be fooled guys. The real problem of the PBA is not yet properly address. They should find a way to push the power of the SMB and MVP teams into the proper level.
So what, if we are now watching the type of basketball that we are accustomed to. SMB and MVP teams are still the teams at the top.
They can still pull out crazy lopsided trades at any time.
And the moment PBA fans see one of those again, the league could really meet its end.
