He was supposed to be an overrated college star, a shot-chucker ("buwaya" in short), inefficient, will not do the other things well and most of all, will not lead his team to victories.
Right, haters?
The haters were wrong. Kiefer was not overrated. With what he showed in his first nine games, underrated could be a better description.
Yes, his primary focus is to take shots. And he did take shots, I mean quality shots, and made majority of them.
And the other things? He is creating for his teammates. Actually, if you watch him play, he always breakdown the defense and if he cannot find the right shot, he will make the right passes.
And rebounding? The guy fights for the board.
And in terms of winning games, he just delivered another victory to NLEX. Watch it:
The composure that he showed was not of a rookie. Even veterans do not have it. It was the composure of a killer. A player capable of making the hard shots when it matters most.
The defense of Newsome was superb. I did not find a mistake with what he did. The offense of Kiefer was just better in that play. He unloaded his turnaround step back to carve the right amount of space to take his shot.
And if you watch him on the air, you can see that his mind was clear and in focus. He waited for the right elevation, the one that he was familiar with, before he took the shot.
And it went in.
If you still think Ravena is overrated. You better watch him play. He plays well.
