It did not surprise me that one of our legit trade sources has provided a hint of a possible Calvin Abueva Trade.
What made it super intriguing was the fact that the source was implying that both sides want the trade to happen. In short, Calvin Abueva and Alaska Aces may want to end their relationship already.
Should we believe it?
I have been saying for the last few years that Alaska and Abueva are not fit with each other. With the current run of Alaska in the Commissioner's Cup, Alaska management may have concluded already that they may not need Abueva for their future.
In the recent statement of coach Alex Compton, he said that the suspension of Calvin is still on and pointed to the management as the holder of the key to the suspension.
With the Alaska management in charge of the Abueva situation, there is a more likely chance that they are looking for a deal.
Add the fact that Vic Manuel is suddenly a monster and Alaska may have enough reason to part ways with Calvin.
The Muscle Man's personality is more harmonious to the image of Alaska than that of the Beast.
Although, we still need to slow down a little because if there are real trade discussions that happening right now, we expect the other sources to report about it.
