One blue-chip prospect will not be available in the 2018 draft because Kobe Paras has signed with University of the Philippines in UAAP.
Even without him, the upcoming draft will still be very deep.
#1 Blackwater - Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (#1 in Last Mock Draft)
Can you blame Blackwater if they are tanking to get Parks? The guy just made a record in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League with his 15 assists against Zamboanga Valientes. Ray is showing legit skills that can make him the Lebron James of the PBA.
#2 Columbia - CJ Perez (#4 in Last Mock Draft)
I expect Columbia to go with the guy with the most hype and that will be CJ Perez. The similarity to Calvin Abueva is apparent and CJ could even be a better PBA player because he is more compose and with a better shooting form. With a very promising backcourt, adding a wing in Perez could be ideal.
#3 Phoenix - Robert Bollick (#5 in Last Mock Draft)
Phoenix grabbing Jason Perkins the last draft is an evidence that Phoenix will go for an NCAA or UAAP player in this draft. Phoenix is one of the few teams that need a point guard so how about grabbing a D-League MVP who is capable of filling up the stat sheet. Bollick average 12.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5 assists and 33.3% 3FG
#4 NLEX - Abu Tratter (#3 in Last Mock Draft)
Coach Yeng Guiao knows that to be championship caliber team, he needs bigman. Tratter could be the headlining frontliner of this batch. Unlike the other headliner bigs in the past, Tratter is already familiar and comfortable with playing in the system and maximizing a role. That will fit well with coach Yeng.
#5 Meralco - Owen Graham (#6 in Last Mock Draft)
If Owen succeeds in completing all the requirements, he could be a hot name in the upcoming draft. He made a splash when he was drafted as the #1 pick in the 2017 PBA D-League draft. His comparison was Arwind Santos which is a big need for coach Norman Black. A player who can protect the rim and hit threes.
#6 Globalport - Jason Brickman (#7 in Last Mock Draft)
Stanley Pringle can play with a ball dominant guard. Brickman will be very different from Terrence Romeo because he will be looking to make plays and breakdown the defense. He averaged 11.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 10.4 assists and 39% shooting from beyond the arc in the ABL.
