Romeo was the Bright Spot in the Gilas-Australia game

One of the things that we should never forget about the game between our national basketball team and the national basketball team of Australia was that we were dominated!

The final score was 89-53. We lose the game by 36 points! Australia controlled the game from start to finish. It was hard to watch. 

Fortunately, there was one Filipino who looks like he belongs in the court against those Australians. Terrence Romeo was phenomenal in that game.

He tallied 6 points and 5 assists in 25 minutes of play. The thing that stood out to me was his focus on making plays and breaking down the defense for his teammates. 

He assisted three of the field-goals of Junemar Fajardo in the 1st half. They played with chemistry and demonstrated a good pick-and-role duo moving forward.

Terrence was not intimidated by who the Boomers are and what the Australians were showing during the game.

If you are looking for a positive takeaway from the game, check the highlights of Romeo. My favorite was his fake shot that Thon Maker fell for and created an open shot for Fajardo.

I hope coach Chot saw that. More pick-and-roll action for Romeo in the elbow could produce more points moving forward.

One team that they can try to emulate was the Spurs team in the early part of this decade. That team was being quarterbacked by Tony Parker who was also a master of driving and breaking down the defense inside and making accurate passes.

Of course, Tim Duncan was also there and his role can be assumed by Fajardo.

Overall, that positive is more than enough for me to say that the game was not worthless to Philippine basketball.
