TNT was supposed to be the leader of the MVP sister teams. They made transactions this season, trying to form the core of the squad that will take over from Jayson Castro's era.
It did not work.
In the Philippine Cup, they managed to claim the 8th spot and loss to San Miguel Beermen in the quarterfinals.
In the Commissioner's Cup, they played better and finished with 8-3 in the elimination round but succumbed again to San Miguel in a sweep in the quarterfinals.
And this Governors' Cup? They did not even reach the playoffs.

Yes. TNT was not one of the six best teams this season. So, can you blame Jayson Castro when he said, "nakakahiya na".
According to a reliable source, the TNT management was disappointed and planning to make a roster overhaul in the offseason. The source said that TNT will try to retain Troy Rosario, Jericho Cruz, RR Pogoy, Jayson Castro and Don Trollano.
Kelly Williams, Ryan Reyes and Harvey Carey were not considered already because they are already very close to retirement.
So, Terrence Romeo, Anthony Semerad, RR Garcia, Frank Golla, Yousef Taha and Papot Paredes will all be on the block.
Terrence Romeo is, of course, the biggest name. What kind of package will they accept for Terrence Romeo that they got by giving up Moala Tautuaa.
