Merry Christmas everyone! I am not sure though if TNT and Meralco are happy today after hearing the news of Mr. Sy stating that he will not trade Parks.
That doesn't mean though that the trade-season is over! So, rejoice!
Today, we will talk about the trade targets of Brgy. Ginebra, Columbian, Blackwater and NLEX.
NLEX - Jackson Corpuz
After the acquisition of JP Erram, it may look like NLEX is already ready to go. But they still have a lot of holes in their line-up. I think the most glaring is a versatile forward. That was the role of Michael Miranda last season and now that he is gone, they may need to find a replacement.
One underrated target is Jackson Corpuz. Last season, he showed mastery of off-ball scoring which is a good ingredient to a winning team. The only problem is the shocking silence of Columbian in making trades. So, can NLEX offer something that they cannot refuse?
Blackwater - A Center
Unfortunately for the Elite, Erram did not want to remain with them so they shipped him. With his departure, a big hole in the middle was created. Abu Tratter, Rabeh al-Hussaini and Chris Javier are not enough to fill the void.
The best low-price high-reward big in the league is Kelly Nabong. Although, I am not pretty sure if they want to get a player with reported attitude-problem. He will be an excellent addition, basketball-wise, because of his ability to hit three-pointers.
Columbian - A Center
I thought Columbian will not end up with a center from the PBA draft but fortunately, Magnolia gifted them a Jeepy Faundo. Unfortunately, Faundo is still not an answer to their center position. What they should do, is to at least trade for another one to increase their options.
Knowing that they are still a young team, they should try to add someone that still has an ample room for improvement.
Ginebra has a good option in Prince Caperal. They can also ask for Lervyn Flores of Globalport. Or if they are willing to sacrifice a little bit more, how about Norbert Torres of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
Ginebra - A Shooter
Ginebra will not be making any mistake if they can exchange one or two of their not good shooters for a legit sniper.
The good targets are Michael DiGregorio and John Pinto of Blackwater. Blackwater will provide an opportunity to Paul Desiderio to make his case as a starting caliber guard. He will eat up the minutes of the current starting backcourt of Blackwater, DiGregorio and Pinto.
So, Blackwater can exchange one of them already, to shore up the other parts of their line-up. That possibility can be taken advantage of Blackwater. A good trade could be Prince Caperal and maybe Blackwater can ask for a 2nd rounder for one of the two shooters.
Blackwater will have another bigman and Ginebra will add a legitimate shooter.
