The Dark Horse Destination of CJ Perez - Alaska Aces

I am pretty sure a lot of you are waiting for the CJ Perez trade. The popular question is, which SMC team will get him?

It is very unlikely that he is bound to San Miguel Beermen, unless one of their core players is involved. Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel is the favorite because they have not made any trade. And maybe Magnolia needed one more big piece to better match-up with their brothers. 

One possibility that is not making the news, is Alaska Aces.

Why? 

The connection to coach Topex Robinson. 

Okay. Coach Topex is now the first assistant in the Phoenix Fuel Masters but his roots are found on the Alaska Aces.  

Coach Topex built a family atmosphere in the Lyceum Pirates. He promised to his players that they are his forever children.

Just like how Alaska do it.

I am pretty sure coach Topex has shared his intel of CJ Perez to the Alaska management. I am pretty sure he already highlighted the similarities of CJ to Calvin.

And their biggest difference. The Beast has some attitude problem. CJ doesn't have that. 

In short, he was the version of the Beast that Alaska is waiting for. 

And with the history of the PBA, Alaska is much capable of forming a package to get CJ. The question now is, will they even try?
