The proposal was Paul Desiderio, the #4 pick, and Abu Tratter, the #7 pick, for JP Erram.
The committee did not saw the package of Desiderio and Tratter as a fair one for Erram. So, according to the source, they told NLEX to add more and it seems like NLEX agreed to include a 2nd round pick and Michael Miranda.
The report continued that Michael Miranda is bound to TNT for a 2nd round.
So, the current rumored deal is this:
Blackwater will get Paul Desiderio, Abu Tratter, Two 2nd round picks
TNT will get Michael Miranda
NLEX will get JP Erram
If this is true, I love the action made by the PBA. I already said in my trade analysis of the first proposed trade that it was actually a fair one, especially if you consider the fact that Erram did not to sign a maximum deal offered by Blackwater. In short, he does not want to stay with the Elite.
So, the addition of not one but two 2nd round picks tilted the trade in favor of Blackwater in my eyes.
I am excited for the upcoming 2019 and 2020 draft as I am expecting it to be deep drafts with high-quality wings and bigs.
If a draft is deep, it adds value to 2nd rounders. Remember that you can get centers in the 2nd round. And Blackwater has exhibited their ability to groom quality centers. Isn't it JP Erram?
