I believe that one of the worst traits of Filipinos is that we forget things that we should not and that pushed us to never change.
Thus, let me remind you of some of the transactions and trades in the past by grading them again.
The first one was the anticipated trade in the 2016 draft. TNT managed to get the #2 pick, Troy Rosario from Mahindra.
What was the trade?
TNT
Received: Troy Rosario
Sent: Kevin Alas & Rob Reyes
Mahindra
Received: Rob Reyes, Nino Canaleta, Aldrech Ramos
Sent: Troy Rosario
NLEX
Received: Kevin Alas
Sent: Aldrech Ramos & Nino Canaleta
TEAM GRADE
TNT
This is easy, right? Kevin Alas is a pretty talented guard and Rob Reyes was serviceable back then but Rosario can play three positions and managed to make his outside shooting, consistent. Knowing that Jayson Castro is already there, giving up Kevin is easy.

In terms of the difference between the value of what they received and gave up, this was much smaller than in the Christian Standhardinger trade.
Grade: A
Mahindra
This is chicken. Rob Reyes did not play a single game for Mahindra. Aldrech Ramos played with them for a season and it was actually the best season of Aldrech. He averaged 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 47.5% 3FG per game. After a season, Aldrech was traded for Alex Mallari who was then traded for Eric Camson and Glenn Khobuntin.
Lastly, KG was shipped to Blackwater for Dylan Ababou and James Forrester. Of course Ababou and Forrester are not playing on the league already, although they are still trying to make a spot.
So, as of today, the adjusted version of the Rosario-trade for Mahindra is:
Sent: Troy Rosario
Received: Eric Camson and Glenn Khobuntin
Eric Camson and Glenn Khobuntin are still playing for them, although they have not solidified themselves as part of the core of Columbian.
Overall, it was not a total zero trade for the Columbian franchise but it pretty obvious that they lose badly.

NLEX
The NLEX part of the trade is interesting because KG Canaleta and Aldrech Ramos are the perfect fits for the system of the current coach of the franchise, Yeng Guiao. Alas was a tantalizing young piece back then but his injury history was already scary.
I do not think Kevin will ever be healthy, limiting his overall value. Actually, he is struggling in their first three games this season, averaging 5.7 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 21% FG and 10% 3FG per game.
That was in exchange for two elite three-pointers who can play the 4 position. Which means Columbian may not end up as the lone loser in this exchange.
