Trade Rumor: Meralco is still interested to trade for Parks

After the sudden death of the three-team trade that was proposed last December, Meralco is still eagerly waiting for the availability of Parks.

If you remember, the proposed three-team trade was:
TNT will receive Baser Amer
Blackwater will receive Brian Heruela and Jericho Cruz
Meralco will receive Bobby Ray Parks Jr.


Currently, Blackwater had asked for the PBA management to intervene in the current contract situation with Ray Parks.

The most recent statement of the owner of Blackwater was that he see Parks as an integral part of their franchise and they are not planning to trade him.

Now, according to a report from Fox Sports Philippines, Meralco is still interested to acquire Ray Parks.

That statement is a double- edge sword for Meralco.

Why?

I am pretty sure Baser Amer will not be happy to hear about that. Amer has steadily increased his production in his first three years. Not only that, you can see that he is slowly evolving as a leader of the Bolts.

Amer and Chris Newsome are slowly building themselves as the faces of the Bolts. So, it will surely hurt Amer that the franchise that he loved will give up on him.

Do not forget that psychological factors affect the performance of players. Thus, expecting Amer to again go to another level is unwise.
