I am pretty sure you are familiar with what is happening in the NBA. The biggest news today is about Anthony Davis who officially asked for a trade from the franchise that took him as the #1 pick of the 2012 NBA draft.
In the PBA, that was actually done already. Although, I cannot remember an official report for any of it. The latest one was, of course, Raymond Almazan, which did not prosper because Rain or Shine managed to fix its relationship with him.
That was not the case for Calvin Abueva who got the deal that he was looking for and he is currently playing for Phoenix Fuel Masters.
Who should follow the lead of those guys?
Christian Standhardinger
Anthony Davis asked for a trade to get into a championship caliber team. Standhardinger should go the other way and find a team that he can call his own.
The reason is simple, his legacy. Winning championships is easy for him now that he is in San Miguel. But how will they remember him?
A part of one of the most dominant teams in the history of the league. Is it really fine for Standhardinger to be on a team that he will never call his own?
Bobby Ray Parks
Wait. He hasn't played a game yet for the Elite. So, why would he do it?
Because the earlier you start winning the better. If he commits to Blackwater, they will need around 2 more seasons to form a competitive roster. That will mean around 9 conferences that you will miss in competing for a championship.
Now, he also needs to make sure that he will balance it out with his legacy. Going to super loaded teams like San Miguel and Ginebra may not be good in the long run.
