2020 PBA Draft: A blue-chip prospect is out

January was a good month for those who were salivating for the 2019 PBA draft. The PBA D-League draft was done and Joshua Munzon was part of it.

Ateneo Blue Eagles and Letran Knights, two teams with a lot of possible entrants for this year will also join the developmental league, making sure that eligibilities for those prospects will be fulfilled. 

It ended though with a sour note for those who were also looking ahead to the 2020 draft. Lawrence Domingo of Alab Pilipinas in Asean Basketball League is not planning to enter the PBA draft, anytime soon.

He said to Spin.ph that his current plan is to reach 28 years old so that he will not need to join the D-League, which will give him two more seasons to play in the ABL. 

That means, he is aiming to get into the oldest Asian league through the 2021 draft. 

Who is Lawrence Domingo?

He is now on his third season with Alab Pilipinas. His career averages in the ABL is 18.9 minutes, 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 51% FG and 0.9 assist per game. 

Coach Tim Cone was able to watch him already and said that he can make an impact in the PBA.

Domingo is an inside operator who works really hard and knows good positioning and other small stuffs for bigs.

The 2021 draft could also be a big draft because the UP duo of Ricci Rivero and Kobe Paras could be headlining that year.
