Two players of two of the SMC sister teams are bound to return before the playoff starts. Who are those two?
Here is the round-up.
CHRISTIAN STANDHARDINGER
San Miguel Beermen is being patient with their other mega-good center, Christian Standhardinger. He has missed their last four games and may not see the floor again until the playoffs, which are not that far away.
SMB is already assured of one of the playoff spots and they only have two games left.
For the elimination round, his presence may not be that important. So, their decision to keep him on the sideline until he is 100% healthy is the right call.
One issue here is the fact that Christian is getting frustrated. It was not clear though if he was getting frustrated with the healing of the injury or with the way SMB is treating him with the injury. If it is the latter, is their a chance out there that he will push for a trade?
MARC PINGRIS
The wait can finally be over this conference as Pingris is around 70-85% ready to return to full action. It is not clear though if he can return before the playoffs but if he wants to help in securing a playoff spot, I bet he will return at least, in their last two games.
They still have four games left and the last two will be against Blackwater on March 22 and NLEX on April 3. Their playoff hopes could go down to their last game against NLEX, who also have three wins as of today.
The return of Marc Pingris on the frontline rotation of Magnolia would decrease the minutes of Rodney Brondial who is having a rough conference. Brondial is shooting 39% on the floor.
Pinoy Sakuragi will create an amazing combo with Robbie Herndon who is having a fantastic conference, defensively. Playing Robbie and Marc together will create a strong switchable duo for the Hotshots.
