Recent PBA Trades that we hoped where just April Fools' day joke - #1 pick in the 2017 PBA Draft

The concept of the April Fools day is simple, it is the commemoration of jokes and pranks. Thus, a lot of people make silly social media posts, joke announcements and etc.

In the PBA, April Fools does not only happen on April 1 but on the days where one-sided trades were announced.

So, what were the three biggest trades in the recent past that we hoped were just an April Fools' Day joke?

2017 - The Standhardinger Fiasco
Was there a much bigger one-sided trade in recent history than this one?

Christian Standhardinger showcased to us in the 2018 season that he is one of the top 10 players in the league. And Kia Picanto accepted a package of  Rashawn McCarthy, Ronald Tubid, Jay-R Reyes, and a 2019 first round pick.

Yes, Rashawn McCarthy turns out to be a starting caliber guard but his value during the time of the trade was that of a bench player. Yes, Reyes is a quality role player but at the time of the trade, he has zero value!

Actually, the commissioner at that time, I do not want to name him because I do not want to ruin anyone's day, added to the joke by explaining that he forced Ronald Tubid into the deal to make it balance!

Fortunately, that trade started an outcry by the PBA universe, forcing the hands of the board of the league to finally end the tenure of the said commissioner.

By the way, you can just imagine how tantalizing Kia would be today if they kept Christian Standhardinger and end up drafting one of Robert Bollick, Bobby Ray Parks or CJ Perez.
