To finish our series of trade targets, we will now tackle Magnolia Hotshots, Phoenix Fuel Masters and Meralco Bolts. Again, I just want to emphasize that these are mere suggestions and these are not rumors.
So, let us start.
MAGNOLIA - Center
One of the primary reason why Magnolia failed to stop Justin Brownlee last Sunday was the absence of Rafi Reavis. Without a very good rim protector and capable defensive center, Brownlee went to the rim non-stop.
So, adding another big body is a must for the Hotshots if they want to get a championship in the near future. In short, their rumored interest for Christian Standhardinger is just right. Even though Ian Sangalang cannot shoot threes, at least he has a respectable midrange shot that should make him playable in the court with Christian at the same time.
PHOENIX - A stretch-center
I have huge respect for Phoenix when they managed to reach the semifinals of the 2019 Philippine Cup even though they have a pretty small frontline in Calvin Abueva-Justin Chua-Jason Perkins-Dave Marcelo-Doug Kramer.
One thing that is missing from that rotation is a capable three-point shooter. The number of bigman who can shoot has increased in the past few seasons. So, they can either go to Elasto Painters and talk about Jewel Ponferada or even Beau Belga. Two hard banging bigs that will make their team more physical. Or to NLEX Road Warriors who have JR Quinahan and even Asi Taulava.
MERALCO - A bigman
Raymond Almazan is not enough. Actually, he is struggling in this conference that I am starting to believe that the Bolts overpaid to get him. Nonetheless, they need another bigman. The bigger the better. They need someone to throw to the giants of the league. They have a lot of quality guards that they can exchange for a quality big.
