I hope the legend of Denzel Bowles in the PBA is not yet over

One of the most epic do-or-die games in the history of the league happened on May 6, 2012. It was the game 7 of the 2012 Commissioner's Cup finals between B-MEG Llamados and Talk N' Text Tropang Texters.

Do you still remember that game?

I am pretty sure a lot of PBA fans do.

I am pretty sure that the two shots that you remember the most were the two free-throws of Denzel Bowles that pushed that game into the overtime.

I can still remember how noisy the fans were as he took his free-throws. Yes. He could be worst free-throw shooting import this conference but during that game, he completed the two most crucial freebies of his career.

Denzel will end up dominating the extra period and pushed Purefoods into the finish line. Denzel produced 39 points in that game.

By the way, he was only 23 years old at that time. In terms of popularity, he was Justin Brownlee before Brownlee arrived in Ginebra San Miguel.

Before their game against Alaska Aces, Denzel surprised Rain or Shine when he gave them a pep talk. He shared his heart out, pouring out frustrations of their roller-coaster campaign.

I am pretty sure they listened because the guy who was talking was producing 28.9 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 55% FG per game.

Unfortunately, that could be the last talk that he can give to Rain or Shine because he suffered an injury during the first quarter of that game.

When I saw him cry memories suddenly came pouring into my mind. Yes. Denzel may not be as successful as Justin Brownlee but the guy played his heart in the court.

Those two free-throws on May 6, 2012 showed to us that if you have the heart of a champion, even your weaknesses cannot derail you.
