Now that our conference is down to two teams, it is time to talk about awards! The first in our list is, of course, the Best Player of the Conference award!
This conference' race can be called "the changing of the guards" because, in the top five of statistical points, we have the two most dominant players in this era in Junemar Fajardo and Jayson Castro and the top 3 picks of the most recent draft, Bobby Ray Parks, Robert Bolick, and CJ Perez!
So, how should we rank those five and determine the Best Player of the Conference? Let us see!
#5 Junemar Fajardo
Fajardo actually has the fourth-best statistical points by averaging 16.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.5 blocks and 53% FG per game. I put him at #5 because out of the five candidates he has the best team around him. With the roster that he has, he should be averaging more to be higher on this list.
#4 CJ Perez
CJ has the second-best statistical points in this conference as he produced 22.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.8 steals, 52% FG and 37% 3FG per game. I love the fact that he managed to be efficient even though he was playing with the worst supporting cast but team success is important. They ended up as the 2nd worst team this conference.
#3 Robert Bolick
What I love the most about Bolick was that he was not only the top guard of the #2 team this conference but also the heart and soul already of his team. He ended up manufacturing 17.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.9 steal, 43% FG and 35% 3FG per game. He is #3 because Castro managed to help his team reached the Finals while Parks produced more.
#2 Jayson Castro
He is not as quick as before but man, Castro remains to be one of the most effective point guards in the league. The Castro that we have today is different from what we saw in the past. He has the 3rd best statistical points with 13.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 41% FG and 33% 3FG per game.
#1 Bobby Ray Parks
This is a close call. I believed Castro and Bolick has a good claim for the Best Player of the Conference but Parks should be the guy. He ended up with the best statistical points, averaging 22.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.6 steals, 41% FG and 33% 3FG per game. Overall, he has the best combination of production, success and clarity of being the top player of his team.
