A new scoring record in the PBA D-League was established last Monday. Eloy Poligrates went for 67 points against iWalk to lead his team to a 141-97 victory.
Eloy went berserk from beyond the arc, connecting on 11 of his 25 attempts. After the 1st half, he was still far from 67, with his 22 points. And then he erupted for 20 points in the 3rd quarter and then finished up his record with a 25 points rush in the penultimate quarter.
He also added 5 assists and 2 rebounds.
So, who needs an ultimate scoring guard in the PBA?
GINEBRA
Even after adding Stanley Pringle in their backcourt, Ginebra's backcourt depth can still accommodate more bodies. Especially a shooter like Poligrates. Looking at their bench, they do not have a microwave scorer that can put up five quick points in a minute.
Just imagine him running the pick-and-roll with the giants of Ginebra and you can see how much havoc he could create.
COLUMBIAN
The departure of Jerramy King creates a need for Dyip to get a scorer in their backcourt. It will be hard for Columbian to compete if they do not have the talent to reach 100 points in a nightly basis. I am pretty sure Eloy will provide a lot, specially for the least talented team in the league.
What is great about the Dyip is that, they are not the shortest team in the league. That is a great thing for a scoring guard who will benefit from big bodies around him.
teams that need such player is columbian dyip and blackwater elite
