After the first six games of the conference, there are clear contenders for the Best Player of the Conference award who are already showing up.
So, let me give you the five top contenders, as of today.
#5 Rey Nambatac
As expected, Rey was given a lot of minutes by coach Caloy Garcia even though the Elasto Painters have one of the deepest guard rotation in the league. Just like a Jalalon and a Thompson, Rey can fill up the stat sheet. He produced 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game in their first two.
#4 Greg Slaughter
In one of my videos, I predicted Greg to be the top local scorer of Ginebra. After their first game, I am on the right path. Greg gave Ginebra the 2nd most points, behind Brownlee, in their demolition of Alaska. With a much faster system and being bigger than the imports will give Greg a lot of scoring opportunity in this conference.
#3 Raymond Almazan
The real Almazan is back! Almazan was supposed to be a player equivalent to two 1st round picks. He failed to show that in the last two conference but in their first game, he looks like one. He provided 19 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 64% FG.
#2 Kiefer Ravena
The Phenom is back and he is as good as ever. Kiefer managed to give 20 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 4 three-pointers in his first game. He also committed only two turnovers which is a good sign about his feel for the game. His chemistry with his team is not yet there but in terms of skills, the guy is as deadly as ever.
#1 CJ Perez
If Columbian managed to reach the quarterfinals, CJ deserves to be considered in the BPC consideration, right away. When we are talking about a franchise player, CJ is currently the personification of it. CJ averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals, 45% FG and 46% 3FG per game.
