TNT brings in another NBA caliber import in the person of KJ McDaniels. We all saw how impressive he was in the Terrific 12 tournament but seeing him play in the PBA is on another new level.
KJ's statline was 41 points, 22 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 5 blocks, 66% FG and 3 three-pointers made. He basically stuffed the stat sheet.
It was obvious watching the game that KJ is more athletic than any of the players that was with him in the court. He knows how to maximize that and he did it over and over again.
Although it is only a single game, his efficiency stands out to me. He did that by taking almost 80% of his shots in the paint.
I went and look at his shot chart and you will see that he only took a single midrange shot. So, 23 of his shots were taken either inside the paint and from beyond the arc.
That means he is as modern as you expect a player can be. You should not be shocked because he was coming from the most modern team in basketball, Houston Rockets.
If you are a basketball fan, you better take the chance of watching a legit NBA talent play in the PBA. Just like Terrence Jones last conference, it his hard to fathom that we will see him again next year.
The biggest question now is, can he do what Terrence failed to do for TNT?
Can he deliver a championship?
