PBA Free-Agency Grades: The new Fuel Masters!

Phoenix Fuel Masters upgraded their line-up by signing two of the biggest free-agents in the market in RR Garcia and Davon Potts. Rain or Shine Elasto Painters tried Garcia and Potts during the break but they have decided not to sign them. Actually, RR even played for the Elasto Painters against Phoenix.

So, how good was these signings?

RR GARCIA
He was once considered as an equal of Terrence Romeo. Unfortunately, he was not embraced by the teams that he played for as a core piece. He last played for TNT Ka Tropa and his production was not that impressive.

He averaged 4.8 points, 0.9 rebound, 1.7 assists, 38% FG and 25% 3FG per game. One of the biggest problem of RR was his inability to be more of a playmaking point guard than a scoring guard. Fortunately for him, Phoenix is looking for a scorer because other than Matthew Wright and their import, Eugene Phelps, they do not have a consistent scorer. The question now is, will RR be efficient enough to be a positive?

Grade: C

DAVON POTTS
I am a much bigger fan of this decision. I have been a big believer of Potts ever since his exploits in NCAA for San Beda. Unfortunately, he went to a wing-heavy Alaska. So, he was not given enough minutes to show his wares.

Potts should be a very interesting option for Phoenix. Especially with the fact that Alaska tried him in the point guard position and he showed well. If Phoenix wants to do that, they will be creating a tall backcourt that could have several advantages to exploit.
