The three biggest winners of the PBA conference-break trade season!

(c) PBA Media Bureau

In this conference-break, we were treated with a lot of trade rumors and some of them came true. Alaska Aces made two trades and the core of their team looks much different from before.

Columbian Dyip let go of two of their promising young players to jack-up their depth.

So, who are the three biggest winners of those trades?

#3 RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO PAINTERS
I am a believer of what the Elasto Painters is doing. Maverick Ahanmisi is a great player. He is a capable starter in this league. But, Rain or Shine proved last conference that they can do well without him. Thus, getting a pick in a draft that is projected to be loaded of bigs was a great decision.

That pick can easily turn out to be Larry Muyang or Arvin Tolentino. Two promising frontliners that they can develop for their future.

#2 CARL BRYAN CRUZ
Alaska did well in utilizing Carl Bryan Cruz. I am not sure though if they managed to maximized him. If there is a team that can maximize him, I think Blackwater can. I am hoping that the reason why they agreed to exchange a bigman to get him is to play a modern switch-it-all line-up of CBC-Parks-Belo-Maliksi. Nevertheless, the line-up of Blackwater will be much easier to crack for CBC. I am high about him because I see him as an elite 3-and-D player.

#1 ABU TRATTER
Blackwater needs a center as much as Alaska. But the difference between the two is the presence of mentors that can helped Abu reached his potential. I am talking about Sonny Thoss and assistant coach Danny Ildefonso. It is up to Abu now to train as hard as possible under the tutelage of those two.
