Is there any question up to this point that the team of June Mar Fajardo, Chris Ross, Arwind Santos, Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter is one of the best core ever assembled in the PBA?
Those five guys have racked up championship after championship and has been the favorites for the last three to four seasons.
Then you add a Terrence Romeo, Matthew Ganuelas-Rosser, Christian Standhardinger/Moala Tautuaa, Von Pessumal and Kelly Nabong and coach Tim ended up calling them the greatest team ever assembled in the PBA.
Do the majority of the fans, believe him?
It will be hard for them to do that because there is this rare accomplishment that we all believe, only the great teams can do. I am talking about the grand slam.
Five teams have done that. So, how can the PBA embraced the San Miguel Beermen of 2019 as the greatest team of all time if they cannot do it?
Fortunately, they are one crown away from doing it.
Unfortunately, the biggest rival conglomerate of SMC are in full force to stop them. NLEX, TNT and Meralco are all at the top of the standings, ready and steady to halt their run.
This could easily be their crowning conference or it may end up becoming the biggest question mark in their legacy. No matter how good NLEX, TNT, Meralco, Ginebra and Magnolia, the Beermen will still be favored.
The question now is, are they going to do it?
