After years of watching Junemar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar, Troy Rosario and Ian Sangalang dominate the PBA, the PBA universe has embraced the reality that the bigs are the most crucial position to fill in the league.
So, it is just right that I present to you the five best bigman prospect in this upcoming draft. Yes. This draft is not that pretty but the teams do not have any choice but to work it out.
#5 Barkley Ebona (UAAP - FEU)
Ebona's number are nothing special and he is more of a traditional bigman. The good thing about him is, that he has embraced the importance of doing the little things, which makes him a high-floor type of prospect in my eyes. High-floor are basically the prospects that has little chance of becoming a star but has massive potential of ending up as a good role player.
#4 William McAloney (MPBL - CEBU)
Another undersize bigman who has dominated a league where he is considered a legit center. McAloney's willingness to shoot from beyond the arc and his physical attributes make him a compelling prospect.
#3 Arvin Tolentino (UAAP - FEU)
Arvin entered college with a lot of hype because of how skilled he is but never found his footing. He has attitude issues but we have not heard about it this year. If he can focus on maximizing his skills, he may end up being special in the PBA.

#2 Aris Dionisio (MPBL - MANILA)
I believe on this guy. In the current season of MPBL, he averaged 12.8 points, 2.1 assists, 2.6 blocks, 1.7 steals and 28% 3FG per game. I do not think he has the size to play the center position for a long period of time but he can easily be a lite-version of Arwind Santos.
#1 Isaac Go (UAAP - ATENEO)
Yes. He was just a bench player in his time in the UAAP. His selling point is his size, shooting and basketball IQ. Fortunately, the combination of those three could be the best foundation that you can dream for a center. If Greg Slaughter can be an impactful player, Go will be able to do that too.
Sana lagay mo rin ung height nila
ReplyDeleteSiguro panoorin mo ung Fil-am big man na si Maurice Shaw, 6'9 big man, last naglaro sa Thai league at double double machine.. masipag na big man at may hustle sa ilalim.. downside lang nya is age at 34 yrs old but this guy can play in the PBA!!!
