The 2019 PBA draft is already done. I expected some trades related to it last week, but we have not seen any single one as of today. That doesn't mean that teams will remain to be conservative.
In these series of articles, we are providing suggestions to the eliminated teams on the kind of player that they should target to exchange for. We are done with the Columbian Dyip, Blackwater Elite and NLEX Road Warriors.
It is time to talk about these three.
ALASKA ACES - A Forward who can shoot
It seems like Alaska is already comfortable with their frontline depth of Abu Tratter, Vic Manuel, Sonny Thoss and now Barkley Ebona. If that is the case, they should try to look for a forward who can knockdown three-pointers because that is the type of player that will fit well beside those bigs.
One interesting option is Arwind Santos who is currently suspended by the San Miguel Beermen. I am not sure though if the Beermen are interested to work with the Aces but it is worth a try.
RAIN OR SHINE - A gigantic Center
Their center rotation of Jewel Ponferada, Norbert Torres, and Beau Belga is serviceable but it can be improved. If they can add a giant in that rotation, it could be the most complete center rotation in the league.
That is why I am fine with the rumor that they are targeting Maurice Shaw. The 34 years old legit 6'8 that was drafted by the Blackwater Elite.
PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS - A gigantic Center
If Rain or Shine is already looking to complete a center rotation, Phoenix has not found a center piece of it. Justin Chua should not be relied to be the guy to go toe-to-toe with the Aguilar and Fajardos of the league.
Phoenix is not conservative in trading their draft picks. If that is the case, they may want to talk to Rain or Shine about one of Torres, Belga or Ponferada. They can also try to get Kelly Nabong but I am not sure having Abueva and Nabong in the same team is a good idea.
how about the Hotshots? can you give me any idea what is their plan. I like them to have a big man coz I think they need it very badly. They cannot rely always with Ping, Reavis or Sangalang.
