2020 PBA Season Preview: Who is the next Magnolia Hotshot to be traded?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

With a lot of trade rumors swirling, it is quite interesting that up to this point, no big trade is consummated.

In a way, I hope that will be the case for the rest of the offseason because almost all the rumored big trades will be a bad hit to the parity of the league.

Nonetheless, we will continue our series of ranking the players of a team according to who is going to be traded next. Today, we will do Magnolia.

#5 Rafi Reavis, PJ Simon, Marc Pingris
If you consider the age of this three and what they mean to the history of the franchise, there is no way Magnolia will even consider trading them.

#4 Mark Barroca & Paul Lee
There is a reason we are not hearing their names on the rumor mill. Just like the three above, Barroca has been a meaningful part of the history of the franchise. Can you imagine Barroca playing for another franchise?

On the other hand, Lee is currently the face of the franchise. I do not think they will trade him unless they get someone better and all those better players may not be available for them.

#3 Ian Sangalang & Jackson Corpuz
I have Ian one level higher because of some trade rumors last year about Magnolia giving up on him for another elite center. That possibility is still in the air. Especially with Christian Standhardinger still there.

They just traded for Jackson Corpuz but I think there is a good possibility that if they make a trade, their trade partner will ask for his inclusion.

#2 Rome Dela Rosa, Justin Melton
Although the name of Dela Rosa has not been part of any trade rumor,  I can see him as the easiest addition for a trade package to get a great player. Just like how TNT used Don Trollano to justify their package for Bobby Ray Parks.

With a lot of guards under their disposal, I am pretty sure Magnolia will trade one and Melton could be that guy.

#1 Chris Banchero & Jio Jalalon
The name of Jio has been connected to Ginebra for  a while. Banchero, on the other hand, was supposed to not last long with Magnolia. I do not think both will be traded but I am quite confident that one of them will not be wearing a Magnolia uniform at the start of the 2020 Philippine Cup.
