2019 PBA Trade Value - Alaska: Is Vic Manuel out of trade discussions?

We are done with four teams in this series of articles where we rank the players of each team according to their trade value. Let us define trade value as the potential return if a player will be traded, alone.

Today, we will tackle Alaska Aces. If the players are not ranked, it indicates that I do not see the other teams paying value to get them.

#6 Rodney Brondial, Jasper Ayaay, Kevin Racal
Out of these three, Brondial is the guy that I am most confident about to provide a 2nd round pick for Alaska. Ayaay was their first round pick in the 2018 PBA draft and he played fine last season. While Racal is a known commodity.

#5 JVee Casio, Barkley EboƱa
These two guys could bring more than a 2nd rounder to Alaska. Casio is an eight-year veteran in the league and can easily start if needed. While Barkley was their #4 pick in the most recent draft. He is a bigman, although not that big, so there should be a team that is willing to give more than a 2nd rounder for him.

#4 Michael DiGregorio, Robbie Herndon
Not all teams will be willing to give up more for these two guys than Casio and Barkley. But I think, their potential trade this season is much higher. DiGregorio is one of the most efficient shooters in the league, today. He shot better than 39% in three of his four seasons in the PBA. While Herndon's skillset for his size is very alluring. Especially with the fact that he is a credible defender.

#3 Maverick Ahanmisi
Although Alaska did not give up a 1st round pick for Maverick, there should be a team out there who will. Maverick's size for a guard and his ability to breakdown the defense and facilitate is an awesome combination to have.

#2 Jeron Teng
According to the management of Alaska, Teng is the guy that they want to build around this season. Last year, he showed that he is slowly morphing into a star. He averaged 11.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 40% FG per game. I am pretty sure that there are several teams out there that can give a 1st round pick and more for Teng, even today.

#1 Abu Tratter, Vic Manuel
Abu Tratter did not start his rookie season that well. But once he joined Alaska, he appeared to be a much better player. While Vic Manuel has been the Ace in the trade rumor mill for almost a year now. The question is, how long will Alaska hold on to him?

According to reports, coach Jeff was the one who changed the mind of Manuel in pushing for a trade. I am not really sure though if that was done to really keep him for the long haul. There is a good chance that Alaska did that because Manuel's value last season was very low because of injuries and his production was down.

Alaska's plan may just be to showcase Vic this conference to improve his value and then let him go for the right price.
