2020 PBA Trade Value - Ginebra: Who is the king of kings?

We are almost done with this series of articles wherein we rank the players of each team according to their trade value. Let us define trade value as the potential return if a player will be traded, alone.

In this article, I will focus on Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel. The franchise that will enter the 2020 Philippine Cup with a different line-up not because of making any trade.

#7 Jeff Chan, Jared Dillinger
Jeff Chan and Jared Dillinger have the pedigree to get value from another team but I do not think they will be valued at more than a 2nd rounder. Dillinger is not the athletic slasher that he was in the past and Chan's efficiency from beyond the arc continues to regress.

#6 Prince Caperal, Arvin Tolentino, Jerrick Balanza, Mark Caguioa
These are the guys that could fetch more than a 2nd rounder for Ginebra. Caperal is a 26 years old center that can withstand the giants of the league. Tolentino and Balanza are the first two picks of Ginebra in the most recent draft and they have the name recognition to secure their value.

Caguioa is an interesting discussion because, in the court, I do not think he adds that much. But in terms of market value, Caguioa is one of the most popular players in the league. So, there should be a team out there that will give up more than a 2nd rounder.

#5 Art Dela Cruz, Joe Devance
I do not think there are teams out there that will give up a 1st round pick for Art and Joe but they should get a better package than the guys at #6. Art exhibited last season that he is still the real deal. While Joe has been one of the most skilled bigmen in the league. Although both of them are injury-prone.

#4 LA Tenorio
LA is one of the top 5 pure point guards in the league. Although, there are a lot of point guards in the league, getting one of the top 5 will be a franchise-changing move. The only problem with him is the rumor that he will retire soon. If that is true, he may not even get a 1st round pick for Ginebra.

#3 Scottie Thompson
Without Greg Slaughter, I do not think it is a hot take to say that Scottie will be the most polarizing player of Ginebra. The number of Ginebra fans who are tired of him because of his stagnant improvement is increasing. Although, the guy is still one of the most popular players in the league because of his unique elite skill of rebounding.

#2 Stanley Pringle
The right trade package for a Pringle is not a young player and two role players. It should have been at least two 1st round picks. I recognized Pringle as one of the top 3 players in the league. Last season he averaged 17.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.5 steals, 46% FG and 37% 3FG per game. The level of point production and efficiency shows that he is on a different level in comparison to the other top scorers of the league.

#1 Japeth Aguilar
There are teams out there that will give up more for Pringle. But, I can see more teams that will put up a better package for the most athletic giant of the league. As we have seen in the past few seasons, giants are really the ones that will change the course of a franchise. And I see Aguilar as one of the top 5 centers in the league.
