The sixth team that we will tackle in this series of articles, wherein we ranked the players according to their trade value, is NLEX. If the players are not ranked, it indicates that I do not see the other teams paying value to get them.
#5 Anthony Semerad, Raul Soyud
I will not be shocked if you are looking for the name of Asi Taulava. I do not think he has any value at this point because he already revealed that he is planning to end his career after the 2020 Philippine Cup.
I think only a few teams value Semerad and Soyud because Semerad is so injury prone that it is hard to get anything out of him. While Soyud is still not proven in the PBA. Although, he is a bigman who is willing to shoot from the outside.
#4 Bong Galanza, Kenneth Ighalo, Philip Paniamogan
These are the products of the genius of coach Yeng Guiao in maximizing players. Galanza is the long wing who can do a lot of things. Although, not at the elite level. Paniamogan is the superb scorer, who is not that bad in terms of efficiency. While Ighalo is the strong-type of a wing that can lockdown scorers.
#3 Kevin Alas, Jericho Cruz
These are the successful reclamation projects of coach Yeng. Actually, not that successful for Kevin because his problem is his body. Nevertheless, there should be a team out there that is willing to give up more than a second-round pick for him. While Cruz was disposed by TNT but proved his worth again under coach Yeng Guiao.
#2 Mike Ayonayon, JR Quinahan
If we are talking only of Ayonayon without the fact that he was drafted by coach Yeng as the #3 pick, I do not think he will have a value of more than a 2nd round pick. But because of the credentials of coach Yeng, by being drafted that high alone has pumped value to him.
On the other hand,JR has a more stable value. JR's abilities to protect the rim, provide hard screens and hit three-pointers are hard to find in a single player. JR averaged 11.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 38% 3FG per game last year.
#1 Kiefer Ravena
There is a big gap between #1 and the guys at #2. When Kiefer returned in the Governors' Cup, he immediately pushed NLEX as a top team in the eliminations. Add his marketing value and you have a player that is worth of a package for a superstar.
