PBA Free-Agency: San Miguel and Northport added an MPBL center and PG, respectively!

The free-agency market is still pretty busy as teams are still making signings. San Miguel Beermen and Northport Batang Pier made the latest additions!

SAN MIGUEL - DANIEL DE GUZMAN
Daniel was a draftee of San Miguel in the 4th round of the recent draft at the 42nd pick. Daniel was a product of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology and played in several MPBL teams.

Daniel played as a bigman in the MPBL even though he only stands around 6'3. Of course, he will no longer be able to do that in the PBA. Most likely, he will be used as a small forward.

In his stint with Paranaque, De Guzman produced 5.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.6 assist, 0.6 block and 41% FG in 14.4 minutes per game.

He is more of a hard worker on both ends of the court. I do not think he will be a positive on offense but defensively, he should be able to help a lot.

His addition gives us a glimpse of the possible rotation of San Miguel. I think Santos and Matthew Ganuelas-Rosser will now focus on the power forward position and if they will really play fast, we could even see those two playing the center.

NORTHPORT - RENZ SUBIDO

Subido was not supposed to be part of the line-up of the Batang Pier for this new conference but by getting a release paper from his MPBL team, Renz can now legally play in the PBA.

Renz was taken by Northport in the 2nd round and he will be a good addition to the badly injured roster of Northport.

Renz played for San Juan Knight in the MPBL and averaged 4.9 points, 0.5 rebound, 2.9 assists, 40% FG and 35% 3FG per game.

He is a better shooter than Nico Elorde and LA Revilla but I do not think he is that much of an improvement in terms of playmaking.
