Even though the 2020 PBA season has finally started, we all know that the trade season in the PBA never stops. When will we see the next trade?
I do not know. Maybe a week from now? It could be tomorrow or next month. What I can guarantee you are, there will be exchanges during the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
So, how about predicting the first player of each team that will get traded?
San Miguel - Alex Cabagnot
Looking at the boxscore of their first game against Magnolia, Alex was the one who was relegated to the bench. Out of all their core players, he was also the one who received the least number of minutes.
Other than that, if San Miguel will push for a CJ Perez, they will need to unload one of their guards because CJ Perez can play the guard position. I think, there are more SMB fans who want Arwind Santos to be sacrificed but without June Mar Fajardo, Santos is more important now than Alex Cabagnot.
Alaska - Kevin Racal
Alaska is a pretty hard team to analyze. Even though Vic Manuel has been the guy who has a lot of rumors surrounding his name, Alaska's need for frontline depth will push them to keep him. Their wing/forward position is the deepest.
Knowing that they just traded for Robbie Herndon, I do not think he is a good candidate. Maverick Ahanmisi has more talent than Kevin. They just drafted Rey Publico. And Jeron Teng is now their anointed face of the franchise.
So, with that, I am concluding that Racal is the best candidate to be the next Ace that will change uniform.
Blackwater - Carl Bryan Cruz
In a recent interview, the owner of Blackwater Elite was excited to see the improvement in the game of Don Trollano, who plays the same versatile position with CBC. Another forward of the Elite is Mac Belo and they value him more.
So, with two names above the depth chart, CBC is a good candidate to be traded. If they will not trade CBC in the next few months, there is a good chance that his value will deteriorate. Remember that they traded Abu Tratter to get him.
