2020 PBA Mock Draft 2.0: UAAP Superstars are coming!

The 2020 season of the PBA is in jeopardy because of the COVID-19. Let us hold on to a little bit of hope that the season will push through and the potentially league-changing 2020 PBA draft will happen.

How do we see it happening? Here is our mock draft.

#1 DYIP
Jamie Malonzo - I will still hold on with my initial projection that Malonzo will end up as the most hyped out of this potential batch. It is just hard to find a player with his combination of athleticism and size.

#2 BWE
Thirdy Ravena - By name-recognition alone, Ravena will surely be a top-3 pick in any draft. He has some big holes in his game that he may need to fix but his level of popularity and potential will overcome that.

#3 NLEX
Justine Baltazar - Even though Juan Gomez de Liano is the bigger name, it is hard to see NLEX, who just lost JP Erram, giving up on the opportunity of grabbing a skilled 6'8 center.

#4 ALA
Juan Gomez de Liano - Alaska may not look like a team in need of a point guard but they do. Jayvee Casio is beyond his prime already and they still need a player who can breakdown the defense.

#5 MER
Joshua Munzon - Just imagine Munzon playing with Newsome, Quinto and Black at the same time.
The size and the skills of those four around Almazan will make Meralco a very hard team to stop.

#6 PHX
Jason Brickman - The allure to get a center will make this a hard decision for the Fuel Masters but if they really want to play a modern brand of basketball, Brickman is their best option.

#7 NOR
Calvin Oftana - If Standhardinger is still with Northport by next season, surrounding him with skilled forwards is a good way to go. By having a lot of skills around him, it will be much easier for coach Pido Jarencio to maximize Christian.

#8 ROS
Alvin Pasaol - Rain or Shine will feel secured with their frontline rotation because Norbert Torres and Sidney Onwubere are still young. That is the reason why getting a possible face of the franchise that could bring back their allure in Alvin Pasaol is a better choice.

#9 MAG
Troy Rike - Magnolia should search for the future partner of Ian Sangalang. Rike could be a great fit because of his ability to hit three-pointers and his pretty good athleticism.

#10 BGSM
Andrei Caracut - There is a good chance that ABL will totally cancel its season and that will make it much easier for Andrei to join the league. I still have not gotten any evidence that he is not bound for Ginebra.

#11 TNT
Santi Santillan - He may not be the tallest. He may not be the strongest but Santi's heart and skill level will make him a valuable piece of the Northport Batang Pier.

#12 SMB

Franky Johnson - Alex Cabagnot is 37. Chris Ross is 35. San Miguel needs young blood in their backcourt and Johnson could be that guy. He is athletic, who can reach the pain at any time.
