BREAKING, Japeth Aguilar and Adrian Wong were punished by the PBA for COVID-19 quarantine violation!

In a strong statement by the PBA of how serious they are about the COVID-19, they gave Japeth Aguilar of Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel and Adrian Wong of Rain or Shine Elasto Painters a P20,000 fine each!

This was due to videos and pictures that circulated last week where we saw Japeth, Adrian, Thirdy Ravena and Isaac Go of Columbian Dyip participating in a five-on-five scrimmage. 

Aguilar and Wong were also ordered by commissioner Willie Marcial to undergo a swab test before Wednesday.

They will also need to quarantine themselves for 14 days and will still need to undergo another test to confirm that they do not have the virus. 

Lastly, they are also required to provide 30 hours of community service. Although, I wonder what type of community service is safe during this pandemic.

Isaac Go was spared from the punishment because he is currently loaned to the Gilas national team program. 

Overall, I was actually surprised by the amount of punishment handed out by the league. The tenor of the articles last week was that the commissioner will only have a conversation with them and they will not be punished.

I am happy though that they used them as an example that anyone who will not follow quarantine orders will suffer.
