PBA Controversy: Three steps to rebuild the Blackwater team!

Even though Blackwater's owner Dioceldo is already doing things to rebuild the bridges that he broke with his statements, there is still a good chance that they will end up selling the franchise.

So, if a business owner out there will be persuaded to acquire the franchise, he will take a team coached by Nash Racela and headed by Mac Belo, Maurice Shaw and Don Trollano.

In this article, we will help out the potential new owner by suggesting moves that he should make to rebuild the team.

#1 Find a young modern coach
Intended or not, Blackwater actually has a roster of modern versatile players. They should maximize that by getting a young modern coach. Someone who will emphasize shooting and versatility. Coach Nash can do that but I think, his salary is already pretty high. Finance is an underrated part of keeping a team in the PBA and I think finding a coach who will cost them not that much is a key in keeping it together.

#2 Trade Maurice Shaw
Why am I suggesting that they trade a rookie? It is because Shaw is not your usual rookie. He is already 34 years old. Knowing that he is a center, what Blackwater should do is to showcase him first. Then find the best package that will help them in the future. The more picks that they can get for him, the better.

#3 Tank in 2021
There are a lot of eligible elite amateur players that will enter the draft in the next three years. Blackwater does not own its 2020 1st. So, 2021 is the best possible target. What they need to do is to showcase their team this 2020 and early 2021 and then do a full blow-off with everyone available.
