PBA Rumors: An LA Tenorio retirement is not a bad thing for BGSM

One of the hottest claims of Snow Badua, the number 1 source of rumors in the PBA universe, was that Tenorio will retire soon.

LA finally gave his take about it in the 2OT podcast. He said the following statement,
kaya ko pa ng good three, four years siguro na sobrang effective at pwede pang tumulong, pero Diyos lang makakaalam nun. More on the physical side na ako eh, parang mind over body na ako...
Tenorio is already 36 years old but he has been the personification of the word "durable" because the guy has not missed a game in the PBA.

So, for him to play for three more years is realistic. Actually, he said that this pandemic may have been the longest rest that he had from basketball.

But, will it be really bad for Ginebra if Tenorio suddenly decides to hang his sneakers? The guy still averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 39% FG and 36% 3FG per game last year.

If you look at Ginebra's current roster, the 35.4 minutes per game of LA will be distributed to Kent Salado, Scottie Thompson, Art Dela Cruz and Jerrick Balanza. Yes, Dela Cruz and Balanza are not point-guards but knowing that Stanley will end up playing more of the point guard role, the wingmen on their bench will have more playing time.

I am a big believer of Kent Salado and Jerrick Balanza and those additional minutes will help a lot in their development.

Also, the next three drafts may feature a lot of elite point guard prospects in Jason Brickman, Juan Gomez de Liano, Michael Williams and many more. So, those minutes could go to them in the future.
