In this edition of our current series of articles, we could be talking about the craziest trade-rumor mill ever!
In this series of articles, we will recall a trade rumor in the past that did not happen for each team. Actually, we are already done of half of the teams!
Again, this is only a recall of past trade gossips. These rumors are not present ones. So, do not expect them to happen or to be refuted anytime soon!
Today, we will put Northport Batang Pier under the microscope. Of course, there is only a single trade rumor mill that we should talk about and that was the Standhardinger saga!
The saga started with the Tautuaa-Standhardinger rumor. Of course, it did happen. But, the talk was that Standhardinger was bound to Magnolia. That did not materialize during that trade.
The following month, Standhardinger was connected to the Slaughter-rumor. Standhardinger was suddenly rumored to go to Ginebra. Although, the posts below were clear that it was not a sealed deal. Maybe, he just heard that the trade was being discussed and a few hours/days, they decided that it is a no-deal.
And then he clarified that Standhardinger was still bound for Magnolia.
And then, the Slaughter-sabbatical happened and the rumor died. The buzz was strong that Slaughter was on the way to Ginebra but with Greg out of the picture, they cannot create a trade that the people can accept.
WHY IT DID NOT HAPPEN?
Standhardinger to Ginebra or Magnolia did not materialize because I believed, the guys at the top of San Miguel Corporation are quarreling if which team should get him. Standhardinger is easily the best player in the upcoming season with Fajardo out. So, I think the executives are trying to do their best to get the nod in getting Standhardinger.
SO NOW WHAT?
I just want Standhardinger to remain in Northport. I hope and pray that he will embrace that team and try to create his legacy with the neon-franchise.
