PBA Controversy: Release the Beast? PBA says NO! You know why?

I'm still asking him to work on another requirement... So once he satisfies that requirement, then I'll make a decision.

Those were the words of commissioner Willie Marcial last June about the status of Calvin Abueva. Just one more requirement and he will make a decision.

So, what happened? Calvin Abueva finished all their requirements and when Mr. Marcial was asked about it, he said,

Sinasabi ko sa kanya Calvin may proseso pa na gagawin. Ang maganda dito nagkausap kami, naintindihan niya ako, naintindihan ko siya.

So, the requirements actually are not the only major part of the key for Calvin to be reinstated. There is also a process. So what is this process? Mr. Marcial said,

Hindi ko puwedeng isiwalat sa inyo kung paano [pero] para [ito] sa proteksyon at ikabubuti ng lahat.

For the benefit of everybody? Wait. The fact is, there is only a single person directly involved in the suspension of Calvin, and that is Calvin himself.

So, who are they protecting?

And what type of process is needed for something that did not come out of any rulebook or guidelines?

Remember, this indefinite suspension was a decision primarily based on reasons. And the one that will actually decide if Calvin can already play is Mr. Marcial and the approval will be coming from the PBA board.

So, what is the point of that process? Is it really a process to end the suspension of Calvin or the "process" to keep Calvin, suspended?
