PBA Trade Rumors: Why are they absent in their teams' workout?

 

The franchises of the Philippine Basketball Association are now allowed to conduct workouts for their players!

The most surprising guy that showed up was Calvin Abueva, who is still suspended because of what he did last year.

It is more interesting though to talk about the guys who did not show up in the workout of their teams.

Who are they?

Northport will miss one of their shooters, Kevin Ferrer, in this early part of the workouts because of a foot injury.

If Ferrer is expected to join in the near future, that is not the case for Sonny Thoss. According to coach Jeff Cariaso, they do not expect to have Sonny in the first few weeks of the workout. Although, there is still a chance that Sonny will be there later.

Now, Abueva may have returned for the workouts for Phoenix but they will still miss two guys in Jason Perkins and Jansen Rios. Both guys have decided to not participate yet because they have families at home who are high-risk for COVID-19.

Now, let us go to some interesting ones.

Maurice Shaw will not be there for Blackwater in the first few weeks because he is still outside the country, according to the team. Although, let us not forget that we are talking about a team here who was in the middle of a controversy last month because of their owner wanting to leave the PBA. Also, Shaw has been rumored to be on the trade block for a while. 

Is this a sign that the guy is bound to his real home?

Together with Shaw that is not yet with the Elite is his fellow rookie, Richard Escoto, because he did not get tested to participate.

Now, the most interesting guy that is not yet with his team, is Bobby Ray Parks. Parks and Enciso from TNT are still outside the country So, they cannot join their team.

Is it just a coincidence that the two players that are not yet with TNT are the ones who have been rumored to have an attitude problem?

Also, Ray Parks has been rumored to be pushing for a trade to Ginebra. Is not joining his team in the workouts just a coincidence or still a part of his plan in forcing TNT to let him go?
