UAAP Basketball Scandal: Do you believe UST?

After several days, University of Santo Tomas finally reacted to the on-going CJ Cansino-Bubble Practice-Aldin Ayo saga.

Before we tackle their message, let us first have a quick recount of what happened.

First, it was reported and confirmed that Cansino was out of the UST squad. After that, it was reported that it was UST, pointing to their basketball heads, who decided that they will cut their ties with CJ. When CJ spoke about what happened, the issue about an on-going training camp in Sorsogon, Bicol surfaced.

CJ then decided to move to the University of the Philippines. While explaining that he suffered mental problems in that training camp. Now, evidence has surfaced about that training camp.

So, here was the statement of UST.

When I read the first paragraph, the first thing that came to my mind was, 'the brain of the training bubble was so good that he managed to avoid the noses of the UST management!' Imagine, all of your basketball players are on Sorsogon, and you never found out for two months! Imagine?

The second paragraph is telling us that they agree that if the basketball team is really on a training-bubble, they are defying the IATF guidelines.

The last paragraph was an assurance that something will happen. With Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chairman Baham Mitra, and Department of Health (DOH) all looking at the issue, I am pretty sure this will be proven.

And I think, the plan of UST, their management, is to throw all these violations against someone or a cluster of people.

And by the looks of it, the choice is obvious.

What will be your move coach Aldin? The ball is now on your court.
