PBA Free-Agency: Is PJ Simon really a free-agent and willing to sign with another team?

The list of free-agents before the planned re-start of the 2020 season could be one of the longest in the past several years.

Chris Exciminiano, RR Garcia, Ronald Tubid, Yousef Taha, Sol Mercado, Jerramy King, Davon Potts, Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Jhaymo Eguilos, Joachim Thoss and PJ Simon were the biggest names in the list.

Until Thoss decided to push through with his retirement, according to a report by Spin.ph. When asked last February why he was contemplating retirement, Sonny said that his body is already telling him to hang his sneakers.

Another guy that is planning to retire this year is PJ Simon, who is already 40 years old and has played for 17 seasons in the league with the same franchise, Purefoods / Magnolia.

Actually, the Purefoods team already planned to give him a jersey retirement ceremony in May 10 but due to the pandemic, it did not happen.

But, a few days after the public found out that the is a free-agent, nobody has confirmed about his retirement.

In an interview with the 2OT podcast last May, PJ still said that he still miss playing and that he is still waiting for the return of the league.

During that same podcast, he revealed that he was a diehard Alaska fan before he reached the PBA. Now, that he is a free-agent, he is now free to play for his childhood favorite team.

Looking at Alaska, they can really used a proven scorer like PJ Simon.

The question is, will he do it? Or, have we seen the last time PJ Simon battle in the PBA?
