As we again enjoy another holiday season, let me leave you with my latest mock draft where I only consider the players who already declared for the draft.
#1 DYIP: Jamie Malonzo (#4 Last Mock) - It boils down to Malonzo and Munzon. Knowing that Dyip is in need of a bigman, I think they will lean towards Malonzo because he is more capable of playing as a big.
#2 NOR: Jeremiah Gray (#12 Last Mock) - Gray is connected to the San Miguel Corporation because he played for Alab. His fit with Northport is also good because he can play beside Bollick in their backcourt.
#3 NLEX: Joshua Munzon (NEW!) - NLEX will go for the best prospect available and I think, Munzon is a clear choice. He is not a bigman but with his height and length, he can play with Ravena and Alas.
#4 NLEX: Troy Rike (#10 Last Mock) - I am pretty sure NLEX is gearing towards drafting a center. Right now, I consider Rike as the best center available. Unless Laput totally blows away teams during the pre-draft process.
#5 ROS: Alvin Pasaol (NEW!) - I think Rain or Shine is clearly lacking a player who can consistently breakdown and pressures the defense, consistently. Pasaol can be that guy. He should be an easy fit for a versatile team like ROS.
#6 MAG: James Laput (#6 Last Mock) - Can Laput repeat what happened to Maurice Shaw, last year? That is a question that we cannot yet answer but I think, he has the tools to do that. Right now, Magnolia will surely grab him.
#7 ALA: Taylor Statham (#7 Last Mock) - It seems like Jeron Teng is having a hard time achieving his potential as the ace player. How about trying Statham who can create for others and create his own shot.
#8 SMB: Santi Santillan (#11 Last Mock) - With Santos reaching 40 years old soon, the time has come for the Beermen to find their Beermen of the future. Santillan could be that guy because he is very skilled and hard-working.
#9 MER: Larry Muyang (NEW!) - Muyang decided to enter the draft as his family badly needs financial help, especially with the pandemic. Meralco is in need of bigman depth. So, that makes this choice a perfect fit.
#10 PHX: Ben Adamos (NEW!) - I expect Phoenix to look for some depth for their frontline rotation. Adamos is the best available. Knowing what Phoenix did with Perkins and Chua, I am confident Phoenix can make Adamos a good player.
#11 NOR: Franky Johnson (NEW!) - I hope Northport had realized that their point guard depth behind Bollick is currently weak. Thus, drafting a very good scoring point guard in Johnson, should work pretty well.
#12 BGSM: Jordan Heading (NEW!) - I expect Ginebra to end up with Heading or Caracut. For this edition, I am leaning towards Heading because he is the better shooter and more capable of playing other positions.
