Scottie Thompson is arguably one of the most skilled players in the league. What I love about his versatility is that he has many skills on the elite level.
I am talking about his rebounding, defensive and offensive, passing and of course his team defense. Having a player with three elite skills is hard to find in the PBA and most of them, are at the best of the best.
In game 2, we again saw Scottie Thompson rose to the occasion during crunch time. As he again knocked a corner three-pointer to take a two-point lead.
Remember his corner three to win the series against Meralco?
Yes. The new skill that I am talking about is his ability to hit clutch shots. Maybe, you are asking if, that is really a skill. Remember Kobe Bryant? He was known as the Black Mamba because of his ability to hit game-winning shots.
The ability to do that is not for everybody.
And of course, that skill makes any player popular. Even Mark Caguioa was recognized for his ability to hit clutch shots.
Now that Mark has been unreliable for almost a half-decade now for Ginebra. This current resurgence by Scottie may actually push his popularity high enough that even if Mark is still playing with him, he can still be recognized as the next bearer of the never say die spirit!
