But after 2021, 2022 now has the possibility of being a much more loaded class than those 2021s. And mind you, the upcoming two drafts in 2021 is potentially very deep.
In the March, 2021 draft, we already have Munzon, Rike, Malonzo, Pasaol, Gray, Brickman and a lot more as potential participants.
For the 2nd draft, we could be having Thirdy Ravena, Kobe Paras, Ken Tuffins, Mark Dyke, Ricci Rivero and the Gomez De Liano bros.
So, what could make the 2022 draft, the best ever?
It is because of the news that the PBA is actually open to the idea of allowing naturalized players to enter the PBA.
This was revealed by Commissioner Willie Marcial to Tiebreakertimes. He said that he is open to that idea.
Although, he said that it is still in the process of being planned to be presented to the board of the Governors of the league.
That is the reason why I think 2022 is the earliest year that it could happen. As the process may not be fast enough for the 2nd draft in 2021.
If the rule will be approved, it means Andray Blatche, Angelo Kouame and all the future naturalized players can join the PBA as local players.
What will make this very interesting is the fact that there are already bills on Philippine Congress about the naturalization of Chris Mccullough and Justin Brownlee.
Yes, Chris and Justin may one day enter a draft. And we have seen what they can do in the PBA. Imagine them playing in the Philippine Cup.
