The TNT franchise continues to absorbed disappointments as they fail again to win a crown. Even though, the consensus was that they entered the bubble with the most powerful line-up.
The reality is, it was not really an on-the-court decision because two of their core players ended up not playing in the majority of the games in the Finals.
I am talking about Ray Parks and Jayson Castro.
Speaking of the two. A rumor started last month about the possibility that the management of TNT was already talking to other franchise about Castro.
According to the rumor, they want to do it to fully transfer the "face of the franchise" tag to Bobby Ray Parks.
Now, if a Jayson Castro trade really happens, what type of player should they try to get? The sudden retirement of Kelly Williams makes it easy that they should try to find a center who defends well.
And if the value of Castro can still pay for it, they should also try to find a guard who is big and can shoot and defend.
If they are trying to go for a big name, I think Beau Belga is a good target. They can try to take advantage of the rumors in the past that Belga wants out. Although that rumor had been silent for almost a year now. Belga defends really well and can shoot from beyond the arc.
For the guard, I think Trevis Jackson or John Pinto of Meralco looks very interesting.
