There are big names in this draft that may not be allowed to enter. I am talking about Jason Brickman, Jeremiah Gray and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.
Is the draft shallow, without them?
Here is the mock draft!
#1 DYIP: Joshua Munzon - Coach Cardel emphasized to the media that they want to grab the best at the #1 pick. I think, if that will be followed, they should go for Joshua Munzon.
#2 NOR: Jamie Malonzo - If Malonzo is available, I expect Northport to go for him in a hurry because he has the skillset to be the successor of Sean Anthony.
#3 NLEX: Troy Rike - The need for a center will push NLEX to go for the best center available and I think Rike is that guy. He did not have a splendid amateur career but his potential is really high.
#4 NLEX: Alvin Pasaol - Knowing coach Yeng Guiao, I expect him to appreciate what Alvin brings inside the court. I will not be shocked if coach Yeng is challenged to bring out the best of Alvin.
#5 ROS: Franky Johnson - If Rain or Shine wants the most dynamic guard available, Johnson should be their guy. With his athleticism and scoring prowess, he should be able to take advantage of the spacing of the Painters.
#6 MAG: James Laput - Laput is still my guy for Magnolia. I am really interested in James because of the athleticism that I saw and his basic on defense is looking really well.
#7 ALA: Taylor Statham - the mainstream media has not confirmed that Statham will join the draft but he did tell us, that he is planning. Alaska should hope that he does because he could be the guy that they badly need.
#8 SMB: Jordan Heading - Guards could be the priority of the Beermen because of the age of their current core. Heading looks prime to be a starting-caliber point guard in the PBA.
#9 MER: Andre Paras - Yes. He is an actor. But he can play basketball, really well. He is an elite rebounder and his three-point shooting is already there.
#10 PHX: Ken Holmqvist - Height is might in the PBA. Ken is a legit 6'9 to 6'11 center with a feathery touch. He is not the fastest but with his size alone, he already fills a big hole for Phoenix.
#11 NOR: Larry Muyang - I am pretty sure coach Bonnie Tan will celebrate a lot of Muyang falls to his PBA team because he was his main guy in the NCAA. Muyang is a bruiser.
#12 BGSM: Santi Santillan - Surprisingly, a talented forward is still available at the table! Santillan is a good addition to a growing number of versatile players for coach Tim Cone.
