I decided to wait for a week before I give my five biggest losers, just to see if there are some moves that could change the current situations of the teams.
The losers can either be a draftee or a player or a team or anything over the sun that we consider to have benefited from the way the draft went down.
#5 James Laput
Laput is a project center. Even he knows that. He ended up with the youngest squad in the league and a franchise without any history of developing a young center into a good one.
#4 Alaska Aces
I like their choices in the 2nd round but choosing Ben Adamos over Larry Muyang and even Alvin Pasaol could end up being a bad decision. Do not forget that Alaska has been making a lot of bad picks this century. Remember the 2018 draft when they surprised us with the MJ Ayaay choice? They let him go after two years.
#3 Prince Caperal
Caperal just had his breakout season in the PBA bubble. Unfortunately for him, minutes will be hard to come by now with the arrival of Standhardinger. Also, by drafting Holmqvist, Caperal is more expendable.
#2 Sean Manganti
Sean was the 1st round pick of Northport in the 2019 PBA draft. He was given a lot of opportunities in the PBA bubble. He was not that impressive and now, Jamie Malonzo has arrived. Malonzo can easily take the role of Sean, which will send Sean to the end of the bench.
#1 Magnolia
Let us assume that Marc Pingris decides to retire. The current bigman rotation of Magnolia is Ian Sangalang, Kyle Pascual, Rafi Reavis and Aris Dionisio. Reavis is already 43 years old. They have the opportunity to grab a legit 6'8 with their #10 pick. They decided to go for a guard.
